Jesus First

Constant: not changing or varying; uniform; regular; invariable

I had read my devotional this morning and all through the day a word kept making itself known in my head.  I looked the word up for its true definition and was surprised at its meaning and how clear it was.  My passage this morning was one of making sure you put Jesus first and foremost in everything you do and not to vary from that.  The concept itself seems straight forward and very simple, until you actually try to live with this in mind.  The world seems to get in the way of this concept,  flooding our minds with static noise and images that just take up space in our heads, without much benefit.  Worldly things creep in with ease and take first place in our thoughts.  We need to exercise our ability to be still and listen, his voice is never very far away, you must be able to filter through all that is of the world to hear it.  When Jesus is your top priority all other things fall into place.  Life will become purposeful and your steps will have direction.  Make Jesus your “constant” and just see what happens and what amazing things begin to present themselves in your life.

In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.  Proverbs 3:6 TLB
